Review: America #2 by Gabby Rivera

The cover for America #2, as I featured in my review for the first issue, is one of my all-time favorites, so I was beyond excited to see what this would entail. And we continue with this second issue right from where we left off, and even get to meet Peggy Carter on the battlefield.America #2 1-- bookspoils

America #2 2-- bookspoilsI was so thankful to see America’s humor and snark not changed much. Also, I lost it at “Try me, Becky.”

However, since not much happens plot-wise in this second issue, it was still great to see America Chavez in her day-to-day life: From developing powerful friendships with X’andria from Leelumultipass Phi Theta Betas to listening to lectures told by Lunella Lafayette, the 9-year-old genius and also the smartest person in the world.

America #2 3-- bookspoilsLunella is speaking the truth!!!

And last but not least, shoutout to this panel:America #2 4-- bookspoilsI had to include the above because I just kept seeing it as the spitting image of Beyoncé with her epic braid:1468852306-tumblr-oaf7m2srs31qf3xzvo2-540 Exceptional, powerful, and magical.

As always, I’m already eagerly anticipating the next issue. You’ve got a fan in me, America Chavez!!
